Above you will see the pictures from the African exhibit. Not much to say about these other than they're pretty cool looking. And if you look closely you may be able to see our bioarch!
These are only a couple of shots of the Egyptian stuff. The four jars are known as Canopic Jars. Each represents the resting place for a particular organ and each is topped with the head of a particular Egyptian deity who was in charge of the care of that organ. And in the corner of the other picture is a hippo, which is a representation of the god Set.
And you will see here first a Maya stelae from an unknown location *cough cough*, followed by some Mesoamerican artifacts, and Mexican/Zapotec artifacts.
On the left is some Moche pottery. The Moche were a group that lived on the north coast of Peru and created some magnificent pottery and textiles. The next is some South American textiles from, again, unknown location *cough cough*, followed by more South American pottery from various contexts including Nasca (southern Peru) and Paracas (highlands) and others.
