Around the World in One Museum

Hello, everyone. Today we got the opportunity to visit the Chicago Field Museum, the place where the bioarch is a "Visiting Scholar". The second Monday of each month is free admission to the museum, so during a break from research, we took advantage of the freedom!

First stop was the Mythic Creatures exhibit (http://www.fieldmuseum.org/exhibits/mythic_tempexhib.htm). This exhibit explored the mythos of unicorns, dragons, griffons, mermaids, etc. It was awesome. Griffons are based in dinosaurs fossils, along with several other mythical beings (dragons, cyclops, more). Highly recommended for those in the area.

Then we visited the Africa exhibit. This exhibit showcases the various countries and regions of Africa. Here are some pictures:

And then we had to stop by the Hall of Gems and Hall of Jade (hey, I was with a chick, what could I do?)
